Stephen King wrote a book called Cell… where indeed people were killed via the phone. Everyone gets a call and aliens send down a signal and wipe everyone’s brains clear down to the primal core and the either a) go crazy and kill themselves or b) go crazy and kill other people or c) go crazy and do both. It’s quite good… a lil freaky. Stephen King doesn’t own a cell phone, I believe he has some insider information.
Don’t think I read that must have been a short story. Did read Word Processor of the Gods a King story where you hit the del key and off people. I’m in possession of it now Para so never piss me off.

That sounds like a cool write, do you know which book it’s from? And Cell isn’t a short story, it’s a full size book.
Not sure, I believe it was a short story anthology. I thought I read most of his Novels and I am not familiar with the Cell. Maybe I’ll go to the Bookstore and steal a copy.
